Her career in education has spread over a fifty-year period, covering three states and several countries, including her eight years as a fifth and sixth grade teacher in Sydney, Australia.
Her last twenty-five years as a leader in Oceanside, California schools steered her to be recognized for many major awards for community and global development, including: Chamber of Congress Administrator of the Year, San Diego Administrator of Zero Waste programs, STEM school development, innovative farm to table programs with “Go Green Agriculture,” San Diego Administrative Technology Award, San Diego Science Alliance Innovative Principal of the Year, “Prize Principal” by Point Loma Nazarene University, two California Distinguished School Awards, which earned her the ultimate title of Principal of the Year for Southern California, San Diego and Imperial Valley.
